Local Metairie-Based Aucoin Hart Jewelers’ White Wins National Jewelry Competition

METAIRIE, LA – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has awarded David White of Metairie-based Aucoin Hart Jewelers, 1525 Metairie Rd., a first-place award in the 2017 CASE Awards, the association’s annual jewelry design competition. David White won the CASE Award in the Jewelry up $2,001 to $5,000 (retail value) category.

         White competed among 58 jewelers in the competition. The CASE Awards recognizes the creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design from top jewelers across the nation. All entries were evaluated by a panel of expert judges to determine a winner in each category. The winning pieces were showcased at the JA New York trade show in New York City March 12-14.

         “Jewelers of America is honored to showcase the exceptional craftsmanship and creativity of jewelers, like David White, whose designs demonstrate the remarkable jewelry available from JA-member stores nationwide,” says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte.

         White won the CASE Award in the Jewelry $2,001 to $5,000 (retail value) category for hand-fabricated diamond and sapphire earrings set with two 8.5 mm pearls, round sapphires (0.60 ctw) and round brilliant cut diamonds (0.43 ctw) set in 18K white gold. The design previously won an award in the Louisiana Jewelers Convention in August 2016.
