METAIRIE, LA – Diaz Market convenience store owner and general manager, Giselle Diaz Eastlack, was named to the prestigious “40 Under 40” list, compiled by Convenience Store Decisions and Young Executive Organization. Convenience Store Decision is the industry print and online leader for all things convenience store related, industry reps said. Eastlack is the only Louisiana convenience store leader named to the list, which highlights the convenience store industry’s best and brightest in the United States and Canada.
Eastlack oversees her family’s convenience store business, Diaz Market, which includes 17 stores across southeast Louisiana in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and East Baton Rouge parishes. Maria and Mauricio Diaz opened the first Diaz Market in 1996 in Jefferson Parish.
Eastlack’s responsibilities range from analyzing potential acquisitions, developing marketing plans, negotiating contracts and managing the corporate office, among others.
Convenience Store Decisions selected Eastlack because she is an “inspiring, next generation c-store leader who is passionate about her job and the company she oversees.” Like Eastlack, most of this year’s class of 40 are members of a family-owned convenience chain or work for a family-operated convenience chain. They have been groomed for success and understand the business challenged they face today are significant.
“I’m honored to be named to Convenience Store Decisions 40 Under 40 list,” Eastlack said. “At Diaz Market we are truly committed to a superior customer experience. We have great respect for the communities where our stores are located, and work hard every day to make sure our customers experience the Diaz Difference.”
