Night Out Against Crime brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials to raise crime prevention awareness, reduce crime and increase the support of local, state and federal law enforcement, City reps said. With more than 200 events registered with the NOPD, the effort works to strengthen neighborhood engagement and police-community partnerships, and sends a clear message that our neighborhoods are organized to fight crime.

Participants are encouraged to post photos from their events on social media using the hashtag #NightOutNOLA. The NOPD’s official Twitter handle is @NOPDNews.

In addition to the kick-off event, more than 200 neighborhood events are expected to take place across the city.
