BATON ROUGE (AP) — A search committee has narrowed the list of candidates for Southern University Law Center chancellor to six.
The Advocate’s Rebekah Allen reports the 14-member committee trimmed the list Tuesday during a 90-minute meeting behind closed doors.
The remaining candidates are associate dean of affairs at Florida A&M University College of Law Joan Bullock, Southern University Alumni Federation president Preston Castille Jr., 1st Circuit Court of Appeal judge John Michael Guidry, interim Law Center chancellor John Pierre chancellor and vice chancellors at the Law Center Russell Jones and Roederick C. White Sr.
New newspaper reports Bullock is the only candidate without deep connections with the school.
Southern University president and chancellor Ray Belton says the new chancellor could be selected at the Board of Supervisors meeting in March.
