NEW ORLEANS – Workforce training nonprofit Liberty’s Kitchen has hired Dr. Dominique A. Lucien as program director, Whitney Myers as program coordinator, Tori Nero as culinary training manager, Shenyarai Pellerin as program manager and Terrence Saulny as career readiness coordinator.
Lucien is a social worker with a 16-year career in adolescent counseling and advocacy.
She has her doctorate in social work from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in social work from Southern University at New Orleans. Her doctoral research focused on youth gun violence in New Orleans.
Her background in crisis intervention, solution-based interventions, psychosocial assessments, and trauma-informed care positions her to launch a new curriculum for the nonprofit’s 12-week Youth Development Program.
Founded in 2008, Liberty’s Kitchen has served over 1,000 young adults since the inception of its Youth Development Program (YDP). YDP is a 12-week workforce training program available to people between the ages of 16-24 who are out of work and not enrolled in school. Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis.
