Dear Chamber Members, Supporters and Stakeholders,
It is an honor to serve as Chair of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana (HCCL). It gives me a great pleasure to work with such a dedicated board of directors and staff as we assist all our members, sponsors and stakeholders across the state of Louisiana.
The year 2020 has been an unprecedented year, and the current COVID-19 pandemic variants have been difficult for everyone. In response to the crisis, the HCCL in partnership with the Hispanic Young Professionals Committee (HYPLA) and the HCCL Foundation has served a vital role in our community in helping spread awareness of important economic resources and public health guidelines through our COVID-19 Resources page at www.HCCL.biz and social media.
The Chamber has shifted its live events to hybrid events bringing virtual and in-person participation, allowing our members, sponsors and friends to connect and engage, regardless of location. The Chamber is still connecting the community and business in very different ways, such as webinars, conferences calls and radio shows, you name it; the Chamber is doing it, bringing us all together.
As we continue to recover from the pandemic, the HCCL is working together with corporations, businesses, non-profit organization, community leaders and governmental bodies in providing innovative and progressive solutions to move us into the future. The HCCL goal is creating and facilitating a business climate within the Hispanic community to promote economic development and growth in Louisiana. We must focus to get through this crisis together, supporting each other, our local communities and by keeping ourselves and each other safe.
On behalf of the HCCL, I would like to express our hearty thanks to all our loyal members, sponsors and stakeholders for their continued support and commitment with the HCCL mission. If you are not a member of the HCCL, please join us today. Your membership will benefit your business and the community.
Until we meet again, please stay strong and safe.
Martha L. Castillo
HCCL Board Chair, 2020-2021
