NEW ORLEANS – As citizens go to the polls this fall, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities presents The Louisiana Governors Project, a series of public events designed to position history as a voter guide.

Tonight, Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Louisiana Humanities Center, 938 Lafayette St., at 6:00 p.m., the seven parish tour will stop in New Orleans for a conversation about the administration of Gov. David Treen.

Robert Mann of LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication will talk with former Treen adviser Sally Nungesser, former Speaker of the House Bubba Henry, former news anchor Norman Robinson and Lanny Keller of The Baton Rouge Advocate about Gov. Treen, who served from 1980 to 1984. Each of the panels aims to generate new insights on the roles and responsibilities of Louisiana's chief executive.
