BATON ROUGE (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is facing off one last time with her two main Republican challengers before next week's election.
The Democratic incumbent, U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy and tea party favorite Rob Maness will debate Wednesday night on LSU's campus. The televised debate will be aired statewide.
It will be Cassidy's second debate in the Senate race, while Landrieu and Maness have met on TV in two events that Cassidy skipped.
Wednesday's debate comes after more than 236,000 voters already have cast ballots for the Nov. 4 election, through Louisiana's early voting period.
Landrieu, Louisiana's only Democratic statewide elected official, is targeted by Republicans nationally who are trying to gain six seats and retake control of the Senate. The race is expected to be decided in a Dec. 6 runoff.
