LA's Common Core Test Scores To Be Released In November

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Common Core test results will be released in November.

The exams were given to nearly 320,000 students in the spring after months of controversy over the new benchmarks in reading, writing and math.

The state typically issues annual school performance scores, including letter grades, in October. However, those results will be delayed for about one month this time.

The Advocate’s Will Sentell reports that Superintendent of Education John White said Thursday those school performance scores will be released about a week after Common Core exam scores are made public.

One of the concerns about the Common Core test results involves how the state will handle school and district scores for students who skipped the exams. Some superintendents have complained that it is unfair for schools and districts to be penalized.
