Largest Gathering Of Porsches: Fulton Street To Host Mardi Gras Region Of The Porsche Club Of America

NEW ORLEANS – On Saturday, September 19, 2015, a total of 66 Porsches, 4 of which are worth more than $2 million, will be driven through downtown, and parked on Fulton Street by the Grand Isle restaurant, 575 Convention Center Boulevard, at 6:30 p.m.

         The Porsche parade, featuring models that span over 60 years, is courtesy of the Mardi Gras Region of the Porsche Club of America.

         The Fulton Street “takeover” is part of the Club’s New Orleans run, the largest gathering of Porsches ever in the area.

         The Mardi Gras Region was formed to bring Porsche enthusiasts across southeast Louisiana together to celebrate these unique sports cars.

         Mardi Gras Region PCA parishes include: Ascension, Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin (southern region), St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne and Washington.

         The Mardi Gras Region PCA holds monthly dinner meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month on the northshore and southshore. Occasionally the groups travels to out of way places like Manchac or Maurepas just so they can drive their cars.

         In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the Mardi Gras Region PCA hosts various social and driving activities throughout the year including driver’s education events at area racetracks as well as their annual Club Race.
