RIVER RIDGE, LA – River Ridge will be home to the third and newest location of Langenstein’s. The 93-year-old grocery business will anchor a new 47,000-square-foot shopping center at 122 Sauve Rd. off Jefferson Highway in River Ridge.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with members of the Langenstein’s family, including three of the five generations, representatives from the Jefferson Parish President Office and representatives of the Jefferson Parish City Council in attendance.
Light refreshments will be provided.
The Langenstein family opened its first store on Arabella Street in New Orleans in 1922. It outgrew that space and moved just up the street to its current home in 1954. Forty years later, the family opened its second location on Metairie Road.
Dorsey Development is the owner of the property, which will be called the Langenstein Center. The grocery store will take up 25,000 square feet of space. M2 Studio is the project architect.
