LAMMICO Returns $2.6M To Policyholders

METAIRIE, LA (AP) — LAMMICO, the state's largest medical malpractice insurer, says it will return $2.6 million, or 5 percent of premiums, to more than 6,700 policyholders in a dozen states.

The Advocate reports close to 6,400 of those policyholders, or 94.8 percent, are in Louisiana.

Policyholders will receive the refund during the first quarter. This marks the eighth time the company has made a dividend payment since 2008. In that time, LAMMICO has returned $45 million, including the current dividend, to policyholders.
