THIBODAUX, LA (AP) — A search is underway for a new Bayou Lafourche Area Convention and Visitors Bureau director.
Mel Baudoin, chairman of the Lafourche Parish Tourist Commission, tells The Daily Comet’s Meredith Burns the list has been narrowed down to five candidates and a new director should be named within the next few weeks.
Baudoin says the ideal candidate will have extensive tourism industry experience and a strong marketing background that will be used to spread the word about Lafourche Parish.
The new director will replace Loralei Gilliam, who started in the position in August and left in December.
Baudoin would not discuss details of Gilliam's departure but said there was a "unanimous vote to let her go and to look for a new director."
