Lafourche To Use Oil Spill Money On Coastal Restoration

THIBODAUX, LA (AP) — Lafourche Parish received positive feedback on its plan to spend $1.3 million in Restore Act money relating to the 2010 BP oil spill.

Parish Administrator Archie Chaisson tells The Daily Comet’s Meredith Burns the plan focuses on engineering, design and permitting of five coastal restoration projects that have been talked about for years and are consistent with the state's coastal master plan.

Only a handful of residents attended Wednesday's presentation of the plan.
