LACOMBE, LA – Jacki Schneider of Lacombe, LA, has announced her candidacy for St. Tammany Parish Council in District 7, which includes Lacombe, eastern Mandeville and southern Abita Springs.
"As a business-owner and an educator, I have paid great attention to the goings-on at Koop Drive for many years," Schneider said. "I'm fluent in the issues that concern the people of our community, and I am offering myself for service."
Schneider, 63, holds a degree in Education from LSU. A former teacher, she now serves as an officer of Bayou Lacombe Construction Company and the Brian Schneider Company, which she co-owns with her husband. Her professional experience also includes work in the trucking, restaurant, and jewelry business sectors.
"With my business experience, I understand the importance of solid budgeting and responsible stewardship," Schneider said. "As an educator, I know how to communicate and will be constantly accessible to the people of our district."
Schneider is the mother of two grown children and she said she and her husband are active members at Church of the King near Mandeville, LA.
