NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A display commemorating the Freedom Rides of 1961 has opened at Louisiana's Supreme Court building.
The six-panel display is on loan to the Louisiana Law Library, on the second floor of the Supreme Court building in New Orleans' French Quarter.
The exhibit tells the story of civil rights protesters who boarded public transportation in defiance of segregation laws in the South.

A Tuesday news release from the Supreme Court says the exhibit will be there through Oct. 30.
The exhibit was created by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in partnership with the PBS history series "American Experience."
