BATON ROUGE – Today, Louisiana House of Representatives Speaker Taylor Barras (R- New Iberia) announced the men and women selected to lead the committees of the House for the 71st Louisiana Legislature.
“This is an outstanding group of dedicated public servants who are ready and able to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our state,” said Barras. “I have absolute confidence in their ability to lead their committee members in the kinds of discussions that will ensure that legislation is well-crafted and thoroughly-vetted.”
Barras also said he was pleased with the geographical, political and racial balance of "this qualified team of leaders. “Our leadership represents a cross section of the regions of the state and I know these chairs and vice chairs are up to the challenge,” he said. “I am eager to see the policy solutions they develop that will bring positive change in the lives of our Louisiana families and businesses.”
