LA Gov. Edwards To Honor Louisianians Of The Year At Louisiana Life Magazine’s Baton Rouge Bicentennial Bash

BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s state capital, celebrates its bicentennial this year and to mark the occasion, Louisiana Life magazine is hosting a special celebratory party today, Wednesday, April 12, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion, 520 North Blvd., in Baton Rouge.

         Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will attend the event, which is presented by Community Coffee, and will help honor the 2017 Louisianians of the Year including: Rob Gaudet, Chef Hardette Harris, Andrea Normand, Kelly Stomps, L. Kasimu Harris, C.C. Lockwood, Dr. Larry Hollier and Coach Ed Orgeron.

         Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome are both scheduled to make an appearance at the event.

         The party will feature a jazz band sponsored by Visit Baton Rouge, culinary creations by the Watermark Hotel Baton Rouge and wine, locally crafted beer and Old New Orleans Rum, courtesy of Mockler Beverage. Additional sponsors include Raising Cane’s and the Louisiana Seafood Board.

         One hundred percent of all ticket sales will benefit Preserve Louisiana, whose mission is to promote the preservation of the state's cultural and architectural heritage through education, advocacy and stewardship.
