NEW ORLEANS – UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) will present a $2,000 grant to a 12-year-old Monroe, LA, boy and his family during the noon halftime show at the Saints-Denver game in the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The family is the recipient of one of the Foundation’s children’s medical grants to help pay for a surgery related to the child’s cleft palate diagnosis.

UHCCF reps and UnitedHealthcare employees are scheduled to participate in the check presentation.

UHCCF’s grants help families pay for children’s medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by a commercial health insurance plan. Applicants do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. Through the generous support of individuals and companies throughout Louisiana and across the U.S., the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation has awarded more than 12,000 pediatric medical grants valued at over $34 million to families in need, UHCCF reps said.

Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child).
