Krewe Of Jingle Parade To Roll Saturday

NEW ORLEANS –The annual Krewe of Jingle Parade, presented by the Downtown Development District (DDD) and The Roosevelt New Orleans, will roll Saturday, Dec. 3.

         Set to begin at 1:00 p.m., and led by the beloved Mr. Bingle and Celebrity Grand Marshal, Chief Tim McConnell and the New Orleans Fire Department, the parade celebrates 125 years with holiday-themed floats, marching bands, holiday characters and of course, Santa Claus.

         Thee annual Reindeer Run & Romp, presented by the DDD and Entergy, takes place Saturday, Dec. 10, and is for kids of all ages. Rudolph, Santa and friends will jingle their bells to signal the start of the race on Canal Street. After the race, "Romp" around the Spanish Plaza and enjoy great activities like yoga for kids & parents, music, games, crafts and more.

         The DDD was created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1974 as the nation's first assessment-based business improvement district (BID) to provide enhanced services in economic development, cleaning and safety. The DDD services the area bounded by Iberville Street, the Pontchartrain Expressway, Claiborne Avenue and the Mississippi River. The DDD is governed by an 11-member Board of Commissioners who represent a cross section of the diverse Downtown community. Appointed by local elected officials, commissioners help guide the policies and programs of the DDD.
