Knighting Ceremony For Chamber’s Justin Augustine To Be Held At NOMA

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Justin Augustine III, will be honored on Monday, April 20, 2015, as a Knight of the French National Order of Merit. The honor recognizes Augustine’s three decades of public service and his role in improving mobility. The Knighthood will be conferred upon Augustine by Gerard Araud, French Ambassador to the United States, on behalf of the President of the French Republic.

         The venue for Augustine’s Knighting Ceremony has changed to better accommodate guests. The ceremony will take place at the New Orleans Museum of Art located at One Collins C. Diboll Circle in City Park.

         Networking will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m.

         Augustine is the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority General Manager and a Vice President at Transdev.

         A professional in management and finance with more than 28 years of experience in the fields of Transportation Management and Finance/ Accounting, Augustine has managed numerous multi-modal transit agencies including Capital Metro in Austin, Texas, The Africa Transportation Company in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Regional Transit Authority/ Transit Management of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc. in New Orleans and many transit agencies in California including San Diego Transit, Santa Clarita, San Francisco, Oakland Transit, Napa Valley, Sonoma County Transit, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, San Jose, Redding, Chico, Victor Valley, Antelope Valley and Yolo County Transportation. He has also managed other transit agencies in Phoenix, Arizona, Seattle, Washington and Dallas.

         Augustine received his undergraduate degree from Xavier University where he studied accounting. He is also a member of many past and present Boards including the Industrial Development Board of New Orleans, New Orleans Public Media Access Board, United Way of Greater New Orleans, Downtown Austin Alliance, Austin Area Urban League, Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Greater Austin/ San Antonio Corridor Council, TMSEL Retiree Board, AICPA Information Technology Alliance, APTA Financial Management Committee and Institute of Internal Auditors.
