NEW ORLEANS – Kean Miller LLP announced Kerry Hand has joined the firm’s New Orleans office as Special Counsel.
Hand is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist, as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Hand concentrates his practice on tax and corporate matters, including sophisticated domestic and international tax planning, corporate and partnership transactions, private equity offerings, restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. Hand has particular experience in the oil and gas, construction, real estate, health care and entertainment industries. “We are thrilled to welcome Kerry our firm,” Blane Clark, Managing Partner of the 152-attorney law firm, said. “His extensive tax background will be of significant benefit to our clients across the board.”

Hand is licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and federal and Louisiana district courts.
Hand represents families and individuals in estate planning designed to preserve, manage and transfer wealth in a manner that is tax-efficient and accomplishes non-tax objectives. He advises individual and corporate fiduciaries in connection with the planning and administration of trusts and estates. He also counsels public and private charities with respect to formation, tax and corporate compliance, and advises individuals and charitable institutions regarding the design of major lifetime and testamentary charitable gifts.
Hand holds a J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
