BATON ROUGE, LA — Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), the state’s anti-litter and community improvement organization, recently elected seven new members to serve on its advisory and director’s boards.
“The time and resources that our board devotes to Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s mission are the reasons we continue to grow and develop as influencers in Louisiana,” KLB Executive Director Susan Russell said. “Our board members are committed to producing real change in local communities and in the state of Louisiana. They are truly dedicated to ensuring the longevity of our impact on Louisiana.”
Led by Board Chair Andrew R. Johnson, IV, an attorney, the Board of Director’s Executive Committee includes: Vice Chair Courtney Hornsby, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce Executive Director; Treasurer Carla Buchholz, former City of Mandeville Councilmember; Secretary Ashley Mullens, Youth Wetlands Program Manager and 4-H Youth and Family Development LSU AgCenter; and Executive Director Susan Russell.
Newly elected board members include: Ronnie Harris, Louisiana Municipal Assoc. Executive Director; Katelyn Yates, Sabine Parish Tourism Commission Tourist Counselor and Eligha Guillory, City of Lake Charles Assistant City Administrator. Returning board members include: Tricia Farace, Waste Management Community Relations; Steve Gruesbeck, Northwestern State University Director of Service Learning; Deborah Juneau, Kean, Miller LLP Partner; Jackie Maginnis, Founding Member and Community Activist; Darienne Mobley, La. Travel Promotion Assoc. Co-Executive Director; Matt Rookard, Economic Development Terrebonne Parish; David Sickey, Coushatta Tribe of La. Tribal Council; Dr. Susan Strain, Claiborne Hill Veterinary Hospital Owner and Veterinarian; and David Yarbrough, Ph.D. University of Louisiana at Lafayette Dean of Community Service.
Newly elected advisory board members include: Devonte’ Bryant, Office of the Governor Constituent Service Representative; Major M. Doug Cain, Louisiana State Police Executive Officer to the Superintendent; Beth Erwin, La. Garden Club Federation representative and Ann Vail Shaneyfelt, La. Clean Fuels Executive Director. Returning advisory board members include: Phyllis Darensbourg, Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Public Information Director; Darryl Campbell, Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Executive Management Officer; Judd Jeansonne, Volunteer Louisiana Executive Director; Jean Kelly, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Public Information Officer; Roy Dupuy, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Chief Landscape Architect; Venise Ortego, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Environmental Education State Coordinator.
The 17-member Board of Directors serves as the policy making body and governing authority by adopting rules and regulations and delegating authority to further the organization’s purpose. The 10-member Advisory Board is comprised of representatives from government agencies and related organizations. They are non-voting board members and may serve on committees and work in tandem with KLB on various mission appropriate projects.
