NEW ORLEANS – DeLuxe Dry Cleaners announced Eric Kanzig, one of the most experienced dry cleaners in the city, has joined the company as the production manager.
“As the oldest, continuously family-owned dry cleaners in New Orleans for three generations, we’ve watched a lot of competitors come and go,” said Dan Duplass, owner and president of Deluxe Dry Cleaners. “Eric is one of the most knowledgeable and talented dry cleaners in the industry, and we are lucky and proud to have him on board. Our customers will enjoy having someone with his expertise on our team.”
Like Duplass, Kanzig grew up in the family dry-cleaning business. His father launched the family business on the West Bank in 1967. Eric Kanzig opened his own dry cleaning business on the West Bank in 1986 before moving to Metairie in 1999 to open Eric’s Specialty Cleaners on Veterans Boulevard. Kanzig brings more than 38 years of experience in the industry and a very loyal customer base, many of whom followed him to DeLuxe.
Besides managing the daily cleaning and garment restoration operations, Kanzig is an expert in helping families maintain and restore sentimental clothing like wedding dresses, reps said. If it is yellowed or stained, Kanzig may be the best in the city at making it vibrant again, they said.
Deluxe Dry Cleaners was founded in 1940 by John Duplass. It started out with humble beginnings in a then new section of New Orleans called Lakeview. DeLuxe was taken over in 1950 by Larry Duplass until 1984 when his son, Dan Duplass, took over as the company’s third generation owner and president. DeLuxe is one of the largest cleaners in New Orleans and manages all of its operations on site, reps said.
