Jefferson Parish Cabbies File Lawsuit Against Uber Drivers

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Jefferson Parish taxi drivers have filed a lawsuit claiming UberX drivers are picking up fares illegally in the parish. It's the latest in a series of legal challenges to Uber's operations in the New Orleans area.

The New Orleans Advocate’s Jeff Adelson reports the suit, filed in state court, comes a month after New Orleans cabbies filed a similar challenge.

The suit claims there may be as many as 2,000 UberX drivers operating in Jefferson Parish and another 3,000 in the New Orleans area.
