METAIRIE, LA – Jefferson Community Health Care Centers announced it will host its inaugural Fall Foodies and Festivities fundraising event, presented by Louisiana Healthcare Connections, on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Bucktown Harbor Marina, 325 Metairie-Hammond Hwy., in Metairie, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
“We’re so excited to bring this fun family event to the community in order to raise funds for Jefferson Community Health Care Centers (JCHCC), whose mission is to provide premiere, affordable, and quality health care to everyone,” says JCHCC CEO Dr. Shondra Williams.
Fall Foodies and Festivities will feature food by local area restaurants including Plum Street Snoballs, Grill it Up Food Truck and The New Orleans Connection, First Class Catering and musical entertainment by The Top Cats. The family-friendly event will also offer a dedicated kids’ area with a bounce house, face painting and more.
JCHCC will offer free health screenings throughout the event and will also be displaying its new dental mobile unit which will begin visiting schools and other community events this fall to assist in diagnosing and treating clients who may not otherwise be able to get to a dental office.
The mission of JCHCC is to elevate the health status of low-income residents by attending to patients regardless of their ability to pay and to improve the delivery of acute, primary and preventive services for low income residents. JCHCC also aims to educate the public of the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment and to improve health habits.
Event tickets are free for children 12 and under. Regular event tickets are $25 and include $25 in tickets for dining at participating food and beverage vendor stations. Additional food and beverage tickets may be purchased on site.
