Jefferson Business Council Names Fred Preis 2024 Chairman

Preis Fred HeadshotMETAIRIE, La.— The Jefferson Business Council installed Fred Preis as 2024 chairman. He will begin his tenure on Jan. 10, 2024.

JBC Executive Director Larry Dale congratulated the new officers and thanked the 2023 board, especially Chairman Philip Rebowe, for their leadership over the last year. The JBC was active in supporting business legislation and worked with parish government on many local initiatives, including spearheading Jefferson Now, a quality of life survey that is designed to help political, civic and business leaders with objective insights into Jefferson Parish’s strengths and challenges.

Preis is a senior partner at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson LLP, and senior member of the labor and employment law section. He has been representing management in labor law and employee relations matters throughout the United States for more than 30 years. As both a trial lawyer and advisor, Preis has served as lead labor counsel for Fortune 500 companies, as well as trade associations and employers in numerous mid-sized and small industries and businesses throughout the United States. He is also active in many business and civic endeavors throughout the New Orleans area. Preis served as an officer in the United States Army and earned both his undergraduate degree in business and his law degree from Louisiana State University.

The mission of the JBC is to promote and encourage economic development in Jefferson Parish. The Jefferson Business Council membership consists of a variety of civic leaders, business owners and CEOs who have worked to create a vibrant quality of life and economic development environment in Jefferson Parish over many years.
