Jean Lafitte to Host Its First Town Market Since Pandemic

JEAN LAFITTE, La. – Jean Lafitte will host its first town market since the pandemic this Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Jules Nunez Seafood Pavilion. Two spring town markets will follow on April 17, 2021, and May 15, 2021.

The Jean Lafitte Town Market includes food by local restaurants and vendors selling fresh seafood and arts and crafts. Food highlights include fresh boiled seafood, redfish and fried potatoes, softshell shrimp pasta and seafood sliders, seafood gumbo and boudin balls.

“We are excited to bring back the Jean Lafitte Town Market this Saturday,” said Jean Lafitte Mayor Tim Kerner, Jr.  “This past year has taught us many things but also reminded us how important community is to our individual lives. This will be the first of many events we are planning this year that will bring our community back together in a responsible way. Residents and visitors from across the area are welcome to come and enjoy local seafood and cuisineand shop for fresh produce, arts and crafts in our beautiful location overlooking Bayou Barataria.”

The event will take place at the Jules Nunez Seafood Pavilion at 920 Jean Lafitte Blvd. in Jean Lafitte on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Seafood Pavilion features booths for restaurants and fishermen to sell directly to the public, and an area for seating as well as eating facilities and a deck-covered patio overlooking Bayou Barataria.
