NEW ORLEANS – Ochsner Eat Fit has partnered with over 20 vendors to spotlight nutritious food options at this year’s Jazz & Heritage Festival.
“Our Eat Fit team has worked with your favorite festival vendors to feature an array of nourishing options centered on quality ingredients that are skillfully and beautifully prepared,” said Molly Kimball, registered dietitian and Ochsner Eat Fit founder. “Jazz Fest is essentially another holiday season here in New Orleans, and we’re thrilled that fest goers can celebrate while staying true to their wellness goals.”
For over a decade, Ochsner Eat Fit has worked alongside restaurant chefs and owners to promote flavorful recipes that fit into a healthy lifestyle. Foodservice establishments place the Eat Fit seal next to menu items that fit the Eat Fit criteria. To earn the designation, dishes must be centered on lean proteins, vegetables, plant-based fats and whole-grains, with no white carbs and minimal added sugar.
“Just like New Orleans, Jazz Fest is almost as famous for the food as the music, and in 2024 we’ll have more than 200 dishes to choose from,” said Jazz Fest Producer/Director Quint Davis. “Thanks to Ochsner Eat Fit for making sure festiva lgoers looking for the healthiest items on the menu know where to find them.”
Some Eat Fit options available at Jazz Fest this year include poulet fricassee and jama jama from Bennachin, crab ravigote and crawfish remoulade from Papa Ninety Catering, vegetarian red beans from Burks & Douglas and veggie tacos from Carmo.
