When Kodi Volkmann came to New Orleans to volunteer after Hurricane Katrina, he hardly anticipated the career and future business that would follow. After months of hands-on rebuilding, Volkmann’s background in civil and structural engineering design drafting proved a valuable skill, earning him work with a number of engineering firms who could use his CAD (computer-aided design) expertise.
Today, Volkmann is founder and president of CadPros, LLC, providing CAD design and drafting 3D modeling and staffing services to the architecture, engineering, and construction community of Southeast Louisiana. Volkmann has 20 years of experience with a range of worldwide projects extending from residential/ commercial development to municipal and industrial infrastructure capital improvements, including downstream oil and gas facilities throughout the Southeast.CadPros, LLC is qualified to meet a variety of civil/structural engineering needs, including bulk handling and liquid transfer terminals, marine terminal and wharf design, marine inspection and rehabilitation, bridges, light rail, electrical substations, structural steel, levee/flood control, and road construction. Volkmann’s experience includes projects such as the SLS Rocket Booster Superstructure at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, Katrina rehabilitation of the
Northrup Naval Yard in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and the Impala Coal & Bauxite Facility in Burnside, Louisiana.
Under Volkmann’s guidance, CadPros, LLC plans to pursue a full service Geographic Information Systems (GIS) development group, to provide mapping, development, implementation, training and financing for rural jurisdictions and utilities.
