NEW ORLEANS – Two nonprofit organizations serving the Greater New Orleans area have been chosen to receive $250,000 from New Orleans-based IMTT as the inaugural partners of the company’s Community Impact Initiative.
Heroes of New Orleans, an organization dedicated to improving the health, education and welfare of the New Orleans residents, and Silence is Violence, an organization that serves victims of violence and engages young people to advocate for a safer community, will receive grants to power their 2024 efforts and continued impact on our city.
Silence is Violence was founded following the March for Survival held in New Orleans in 2007 to raise awareness and drive action following the murders of New Orleans residents.
“IMTT’s transformational donation will help us further our mission of working toward a safe and equitable New Orleans,” said Silence is Violence Executive Director Tamara Jackson.
The program’s Victim Allies Project provides grief support, emergency assistance, safe housing and wraparound victim services through trauma-informed care.
Heroes of New Orleans has served over 500 families since the organization was founded in 2016 to give hope to disadvantaged children and has since served over 500 families through education and training, mentorship, workforce development and other community-building programs.
“Donations like IMTT’s help us make our vision to promote family-like systems, enhance interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future a reality,” said CEO Greg Ravy.

IMTT is an industry leader in the handling and storage of bulk liquid products, especially energy transition fuels, feedstocks and petrochemicals, with 16 terminal locations along the Mississippi River in Louisiana and across North America. IMTT has been part of the New Orleans community since the company’s founding in 1939.
IMTT has committed to investing more than $400 million to increase capacity to handle clean and low-carbon products, including renewable diesel, biodiesel and sustainable aviation.
