SLIDELL, LA (AP) — Motorists travelling between South Mississippi and Louisiana may want to steer clear of Interstate 10 as ongoing construction has been causing extensive traffic delays.
The Sun Herald’s Wesley Muller reports road work surrounding the I-10 interchange with Interstate 59 and Interstate 12 has traffic reduced to one lane.
The work is expected to continue over the next two months except for the Fourth of July weekend.
The nearly $40 million project involves replacing worn pavement on I-10 east toward the West Pearl River Bridge to the French Branch Bridge, as well as the pavement on the I-10/I-12/I-59 interchange ramps.
