NEW ORLEANS – In a collaboration between ACCENT New Orleans DMC and local hospitality partners, the Besties Collection Drive donated 22 boxes of food and supplies to the Louisiana SPCA. The Windsor Court and another dozen hotels participated in the effort.
“As a company deeply rooted in New Orleans, we believe in using our knowledge and experience to make a positive impact,” said Diane Lyons, founder and president of ACCENT New Orleans. “The Besties Collection Drive is a testament to the compassion and generosity of our community and the invaluable partnership of our hotel allies. Together, we’re able to make tangible change and bring joy to pets who might otherwise miss out.”
LASPCA welcomes donations year-round, especially during late spring and the beginning of summer.
“We stay busy,” said Kathryn Destreza, LASPCA director of operations. “Our average morning can include hundreds of tasks – from behavior and health screenings, caring for our shelter population by feeding, nursing, and cleaning, to preparing for their upcoming surgeries. We always need volunteers to help us exercise the animals with walks, shower them with affection and petting, and even fold the laundry.”
