NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (NOCVB) is hosting a Job Fest Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Lyons Center, 624 Louisiana Ave., from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The event will feature new job openings from dozens of the industry’s top employers in the hotel, restaurant and tourism industry.
These events are designed to connect job seekers with various employers, facilitate professional networking and aid in the hiring process. Interested attendees are encouraged to bring an updated resume, though it is not required. Job 1 will be on site to help job seekers create a resume. The event is open to anyone looking for a part-time or full-time job.
The New Orleans CVB has hosted six Job Fests in 2017, and has successfully connected job seekers to not only jobs, but to meaningful careers, reps said. Special support for the Aug. 16 Job Fest will be provided by Café Reconcile.
Participating employers* for this month’s Job Fest include:
• Audubon Nature Institute

Tourism is a $7 billion industry in New Orleans, the largest industry in the city, supporting more than 86,000 jobs in New Orleans and 116,000 in the Greater New Orleans area. Careers range from food and beverage service, housekeeping, sales, guest relations, finance, administration and more.
Employment in the hospitality industry can provide growth and opportunity to move up in a company, as well as employee benefits, and attending a Hospitality and Tourism Job Fest is the first step toward building a meaningful and long-lasting career as part of the Hospitality and Tourism team, NOCVB reps said.
