NEW ORLEANS – The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, along with the U.S. Small Business Administration and America’s SBDC will host “Certifications and the Benefits to Your Business,” on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the UNO Jefferson Center, 3330 N. Causeway Blvd., in Metairie, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Small business certifications are like professional certifications. They document a special capability or status that will businesses compete in the marketplace.
Small business owners should seek to leverage the opportunities available through the federal government to drive revenue growth. This workshop will guide businesses in doing just that.
Topics to be covered include:
• Federal Government – 8(a), SDB, hub zone, woman-owned small business, veteran owned small business
• State – DBE certification under the Louisiana Unified Certifications Program. This DBE certification includes LA-DOTD, Airport, RTA and Orleans Levee District
• City of New Orleans SLDBE – small local DBE
• WBE – Women’s Business Enterprise Certification with WBEC
• MBE – Minority Business Enterprise with the Minority Business Development Council
• SEBD and Hudson Initiative – small and emerging business development and Hudson Initiative with LED
