Hebert, Blanchard, Gordon Join Iberia Parish Tourist Commission

NEW IBERIA, LA – The Iberia Parish Tourist Commission has welcomed three new board members, Nelwyn Hebert (lodging community), Blair Blanchard (restaurant community) and Tammy Gordon (at-large).

         "We are pleased that Nelwyn, Blair and Tammy will help us promote Iberia Parish as a tourism destination," said IPCVB Executive Director Fran Thibodeaux. "We look forward to working with them especially in the upcoming months with the new Avery Island experience, including the TABASCO® expansion nearing completion, and the Dave Robicheaux Literary Festival coming in Spring 2016."

         Other commissioners serving on the board include Gail Garcia (chairman, events community), Debbi Mitchell (vice chairman, Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce), Germaine Comeaux (secretary/treasurer, at-large) and Margaret Melancon (attractions community).

         The public is welcome to attend the board meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 10:30 a.m. at the Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau.

         The Iberia Parish Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official parish marketing agency promoting New Iberia, Avery Island, Jefferson Island, Jeanerette, Loreauville and Delcambre as a destination. Marketing programs target leisure travelers, business travelers, media, entertainment industry, and the travel trade including group tour planners, meeting planners, sports planners and special event planners. The bureau operates a parish welcome center located at 2513 Hwy. 14 in New Iberia.
