NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities say city streets were draining and power was being restored in several New Orleans neighborhoods after a nearly stationary thunderstorm dropped torrents of rain.
Water poured down streets in the West Bank and other neighborhoods after Tuesday morning's storm.
Entergy says that more than 13,000 customers were without power early Tuesday morning, but most of them had their power restored by midmorning.
The National Weather Service said up to 3 inches (7.6 centimeters) of rain had fallen as of 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.
