NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans Health Department (NOHD) is leading efforts to enroll citizens in low cost health insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace (Marketplace). Along with other local healthcare partners, the City is working to share information with the community and facilitate enrollment during the open enrollment period, which ends Feb. 15, 2015.
Marketplace enrollment specialists will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays during office hours to help members of the public apply for or enroll in a Marketplace health care plan on the following dates:

To date, more than 14,000 New Orleans residents have enrolled in affordable coverage through the Marketplace with many consumers eligible for financial assistance. In Louisiana, 87 percent of enrollees have received subsidies to lower the cost of insurance. Nationally, nearly 6 in 10 uninsured Americans are eligible to receive health insurance for $100 per month or less through the Marketplace.
