NEW ORLEANS – In preparation for NBA All-Star 2017 in New Orleans, the NBA and Haydel's Bakery worked together to create a commemorative NBA All-Star King Cake. The Haydel Family and the Haydel's Bakery team hosted a King Cake reveal event Wednesday, Feb. 1, with Pierre the Pelican, members of the Pelicans dance team and King Cake baby.
Limited-edition, NBA All-Star King Cakes from Haydel's are available for purchase until Monday, Feb. 20.
NBA fans are also encouraged to stop by Haydel's Bakery, 4037 Jefferson Hwy., for a chance to receive two tickets to an NBA All-Star 2017 event.
For more than three generations, Haydel's Bakery has been the premier spot for treating New Orleanians to some of the finest cookies, cakes and pastries, bakery reps said. Most recently, Haydel's was given the Guinness World Record for Largest King Cake in September of 2010. Additionally, Haydel's Bakery was awarded the People's Choice Award, Inaugural King Cake Festival Presented by Ochsner in 2014; the Gambit Best of New Orleans 2012: No. 1 Best Place to Get a Wedding Cake; and the 2011 Jefferson Chamber National Family Owned Business of the Year.
