NEW ORLEANS – Today, representatives from DN Orthodontics will honor the family of fallen NOPD Officer Natasha Hunter with a donation of $10,000 in cash and services to honor her memory, at the Harvey practice located at 2800 Manhattan Blvd., Suite D, at 4:45 p.m.
Family members of Officer Hunter and First District Commander Hans Ganthier are scheduled to be in attendance.
Officer Hunter was an 11-year veteran of the NOPD who died from injuries sustained in the line of duty on June 7, 2016.
Hunter was a patient at DN Orthodontics and the businesses moved quickly to launch a fundraising campaign to raise money for the Natasha Hunter Memorial Fund following her death. The practice ordered special edition T-shirts and sold them to patients and the community with all proceeds going to the fund. The effort raised $2,000. In addition, DN Orthodontics will donate $1,000 to the NOPD and another $1,000 to the JPSO.
DN Orthodontics will also cover the full orthodontic treatment up to $6,000 for Hunter's daughter.
