Hammond Proposes Smoking Ban In Workplaces, Public Places

HAMMOND, LA (AP) — The Hammond City Council will soon consider passing a city-wide smoking ban for workplaces and public places.

At present, the city has no smoking policies but has banned smoking in city buildings and parks. It is at the discretion of business owners if they will allow smoking on their property.

Mayor Pete Panepinto tells The Daily Star’s Sarah Wilson he supports the smoking ban.
