NEW ORLEANS – For the first time since COVID-19 shut down its volunteer program in March of 2020, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity is welcoming general construction volunteers to build sites. Registration is now open to volunteer on Friday, Aug. 6 and Saturday, Aug. 7 at www.noahhvolunteer.org.
“We’re excited to have our supporters back on construction sites helping us provide affordable home ownership for the hard-working families of New Orleans,” said Marguerite Oestreicher, executive director of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. “While the number allowed each day will be smaller than pre-COVID to allow for health and safety measures, we look forward to bringing our community together once again.”
Future dates for volunteer opportunities on construction sites are the first Friday and Saturday of each month throughout 2021. Questions can be emailed to volunteer@habitat-nola.org.
