COVINGTON, LA – Gulf South Foot and Ankle, one of the leading providers of podiatric care clinics, is opening an office in Covington today, Wednesday, August 24, at 71121 Highway 21, at a scheduled Grand Opening event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The new office was built and developed specifically for Gulf South Foot and Ankle and will serve patients in the community.
“When we started Gulf South Foot and Ankle, our goal was to provide the absolute best foot care to the region and had a dream to expand and align our practice with doctors that share our philosophy for care and patient education,” Dr. Leon Watkins said. “Over the years, we’ve had several patients tell us that we needed to be in Covington so we explored the opportunities and it turned out that they were right, making the new office a natural fit for our first expansion.”
The office in Covington will provide the same types of services as the location in Metairie regarding all types of foot and ankle care, as well as wound care, which impacts many diabetic patients, clinic reps said.
The practice consists of Dr. Leon Watkins, Dr. Maria Markiewicz, Dr. Charles Caplis and Dr. Anthony Perry. Dr. Watkins and Dr. Caplis will initially staff the new location while the office opens and patient need increases. All doctors will continue their practice at the New Orleans location as well.
Reps with Gulf South Foot & Ankle, LLC said the clinic is dedicated to providing the best possible podiatric care to patients. They treat all foot and ankle related conditions including heel pain, bunions, hammertoes and ingrown toenails. In addition, reps said they are committed to educating patients so they can take care of their feet.
The clinic now has offices in Metairie and Covington, LA.
