AMELIA, La. (press release) – Natrx, a leader in nature-based resilience technology, welcomed regional leaders to its Resilience Center of Excellence, the large-scale production facility located at Danos headquarters in Amelia, La., for an inside look at how the company is driving local economic impact and coastal resilience.
Thanks to an innovative approach and the support and validation of regional partners, Natrx has tripled in size and doubled its production footprint and staff in Amelia, since the beginning of 2024.
“We developed ExoForms to solve Louisiana’s coastal land loss crisis, and now we’re deploying our solutions around the world. Global customers are choosing our Louisiana product because it saves time, reduces cost, and delivers high-performance, nature-based solutions,” said Leonard Nelson, Natrx CEO.
Guests at the Resilience Center of Excellence saw how Natrx designs and manufactures its proprietary resilience modules, called ExoForms and nicknamed “Cajun Coral.” ExoForms are designed to enhance habitat and marine ecosystems by working with the adaptive power of nature and natural systems. Unlike traditional methods that source out of state, Natrx keeps labor, materials, and manufacturing in Louisiana, supporting local jobs and the local economy.
Attendees, including Terrebonne Parish President Jason Bergeron, Lafourche Parish President Archie Chiasson, the Pontchartrain Conservancy, Ducks Unlimited, and others, saw firsthand how Natrx’s advanced restoration technology not only protects Louisiana’s vulnerable coastlines but also supports the regional economy by employing local workers and manufacturing products right in the community.
The ExoForms manufactured at the Resilience Center of Excellence are one part of Natrx’s three-part platform. The Natrx Platform is a comprehensive solution designed to address environmental challenges through nature-based methods. It includes three core components:
- Assess – Natrx uses advanced AI-powered geospatial software to remotely analyze environmental conditions and identify the most effective solution for each project and location.
- Address – Natrx then designs and manufactures custom ExoForms and employs its patented DryForming process to create tailored structures for each project. This includes fabricating the physical structures at their Amelia facility and preparing them for transport and installation.
- Appraise – Ongoing monitoring and data collection are essential to ensuring the long-term success of the solution. Natrx performs follow-up evaluations to assess and measure the project’s performance over time and adjust as necessary.
