HOUMA, LA (AP) — Greyhound is seeking to include Houma in a new route from Baton Rouge to New Orleans beginning in February.
The Courier’s Aaren Gordon reports the route would go through Gonzales, Houma and LaPlace. There would be one departure and one arrival daily through Houma.
Greyhound spokeswoman Lanesha Gipson says the bus company operated in the Houma area from the 1940s through 2005 when service was discontinued because of low ridership.
Terrebonne Parish senior planner Christopher Pulaski says Greyhound is applying for a public transportation operating assistance grant from the state Department of Transportation and Development to provide the service.
