DALLAS — Greyhound announced it has expanded service in Louisiana, providing more frequency between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, with new stops in Gonzales, Houma and LaPlace.
Responding to a demand for service in smaller markets between the two cities, Greyhound added the new stops in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD). This allows Greyhound to provide greater connectivity for Gonzales, Houma and LaPlace to the company’s network of more than 3,800 destinations.
The company is also adding QuickLink service between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, giving commuters a convenient option to stay productive on the road and arrive at their destination refreshed and relaxed. QuickLink provides an alternative to the daily commute, offering schedules in the morning and return service in the afternoon. With fares starting as low as $11 from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, customers can enjoy their commute and take advantage of modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets, extra legroom and reclining leather seats. The service will include non-stops between the two cities, as well as schedules that serve Gonzales and LaPlace.
Prior to the service expansion in Louisiana, Greyhound already offered Express schedules between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, allowing customers to travel direct between the two cities. With the expansion, Greyhound will increase frequency to 25 schedules per day on this route.
“We’re excited to provide a service that allows our customers to experience an affordable, stress-free commute,” said Dave Leach, president and CEO, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “With the assistance of the LaDOTD, we’re able to connect rural communities, such as Gonzales, Houma and LaPlace to Greyhound’s extensive network for the first time in 10 years. We’ve seen an increase in demand for service within these communities, and we’re pleased to offer a safe, convenient and affordable transportation option for their daily commute.”
