Grant To Help Brings More Blacks Into Pharmacy Careers

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – An $8.3 million to Xavier University will support efforts to draw more blacks and other minorities into the field.

         The money will be provided over three years by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources.

         Xavier pharmacy school dean Kathleen Kennedy says in a news release that Xavier will partner with Tuskegee's School of Veterinary Medicine and Meharry Medical College's dentistry and medical schools on issues such as student retention and mentoring.
