Grace Funeral Home and St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden Celebrates Property Blessing and Ribbon Cutting

NEW ORLEANS – Service Corporation International (SCI), North America’s largest provider of funeral, cemetery and cremation services, and the Archdiocese of New Orleans, celebrated the opening of Grace Funeral Home and St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden on Thursday, May 2. The property blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony commenced with remarks from SCI representatives, a blessing from New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Aymond and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce.

Details were shared in a press release.

Grace Funeral Home and St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden – which spans more than 50 acres of land leased from the Archdiocese of New Orleans to SCI – was thoughtfully designed to carefully preserve more than 16 acres of nearby protected wetlands and complement the design of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Gardens, a senior living ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, which are located adjacent to the property.

“Working with New Orleans families after the loss of a loved one is what my family has done for six generations. As a native Louisianan and longtime funeral services provider, I am proud to expand our family’s legacy and tradition of caring for families in New Orleans to the Northshore,” said Joe Eagan with Grace Funeral Home and St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden.

The property blessing and ribbon cutting event included a tour encompassing Grace Funeral Home, an 8,500 square foot facility, and the initial development of 800 cemetery plots, 300 mausoleum crypts and 200 cremation niches of St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden.

Featuring a spacious, multi-cultural chapel and well-appointed visitation and gathering areas, Grace Funeral Home will be a welcoming environment for both traditional funerals and more contemporary memorial services. Professionals at Grace Funeral Home will help guide those who have recently lost loved ones through a variety of customized services to pay tribute to a life well celebrated. St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden can accommodate a range of burial options, including traditional in-ground burial, above-ground entombment, cremation memorials and private family estates and mausoleums for families of all faiths and backgrounds.
