NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation announced the award recipients to be honored at the 5th Annual Gold Medal Chefs Gala, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The Gala, an annual signature fundraiser for the Foundation, is the perfect platform to recognize leaders in Louisiana's hospitality industry for their willingness to share their time, skills and talents to help promote and improve the industry while supporting the Foundation's mission, Foundation reps said.
2016 award recipients include:
• President's Award

• Archie Casbarian Humanitarian of the Year Award
Stan Harris, Louisiana Restaurant Association
• Jamie Shannon Outstanding Chef Award
Chris Wilson, Emerils Homebase
• Drago Cvitanovich Outstanding Philanthropy by an Entrepreneur Award
Mike Rodrigue, Acme Oyster House
• Bryan Klotz Outstanding Philanthropy by a Supplier Award
The Champagne Family, Champagne Beverage
The Gala begins with an open bar cocktail party, followed by a 5-course seated dinner with dishes prepared by "Gold Medal Chefs."

Proceeds benefit the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation whose mission is to strengthen Louisiana's hospitality industry through support of individuals within the community by:

• Providing access to culinary and hospitality education,
• Working to ensure a positive perception of Louisiana's hospitality industry, and
• Providing financial assistance and/or guidance to people in the hospitality industry during times of crisis.
