NEW ORLEANS – As the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina approaches, Greater New Orleans is turning a corner in its journey of redevelopment.
GNO, Inc. reps said despite extraordinary momentum, the memory – and funding – of Katrina have receded, and the City finds itself “In the New Normal.”
That will be the focus of GNO, Inc.’s annual luncheon on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, 601 Loyola Ave.
Registration begins at 11:15 a.m. and the program follows at 11:45 a.m.
“In the New Normal, we will be standing on our own legs, competing with the world on a level playing field,” Rachel Shields, GNO, Inc. Chief of Staff, said. “The key question is ‘What do we need to do so that in the New Normal our progress is consolidated, and our success continues?’ If we can answer this question, then greatness will be the New Normal.”
Organizers expect the Annual Luncheon event to draw more than 1,000 business and civic leaders from across the 10-parish region to highlight the organization’s successes over the past year, install the 2015 Board of Directors and NextGen Council, and hear more about Greater New Orleans in the New Normal.
